In the Garden

Description:

I worked on different versions of this composition for several days.  The initial painting was quite realistic but dull and unimaginative.  As I continued to paint, the visual components became more abstract and fresher.  The details of the man and woman, the garden and the city scape became more visually simple.   After many hours of work the final rendition was painted in about two hours with quick bold brush strokes.
